Social Support
Social support groups are of utmost value for those psychiatric patients that feel isolated or alone. In most groups, you can choose to share or not to share. More than likely, you’ll be able to identify with someone’s story or experience there. It will help you in regaining a sense of belonging; it’s especially important to know you are not alone in your situation. There are all sorts of websites documenting support group availability by location. There are also many websites that can direct you to community support groups, as well as educational websites regarding specific disease states. In addition, there are many online chat rooms available in which one can discuss their disorder.
